It is a fact that you
can not learn or remember very much in the Beta, or wide awake state of your brain. All together
there are four states, Beta; wide awake, Alpha;
relaxed, Theta; the time before sleep occurs,
and Delta: deep sleep. Right now, as you read
this, you may be in the Beta, or awake state.
If you are very relaxed, concentrating, and interested
in the materal, you may be in Alpha. Unfortunately,
most of what we read or hear may not interest
us much, especially if we do not understand it.
We would then remain in Beta, and not enter the
Alpha State in this case. When you are in Beta,
you are using only about ten percent of your total
mind power. You may have noticed, the more relaxed
you become, the more time seems to slip away!
If your name is called, you might not respond
immediately. It is possible that you could be
so relaxed that you would not even feel pain. The
scientific name for this is hypnosis. It is very
similar to meditation, and has been used for thousands
of years under various names for stress and pain
relief. Think about it. you do everything better
when you are relaxed, absolutely everything! Recent
studies have shown that sickness and disease are
caused by our attitudes and reactions to situtaions.
There is not much that you can do to change the
stress-filled world that we all live in, but you
can change yourself! Your mind is like a powerful
magnet, drawing to you whatever you think about
the most. This is called manifesting, and simply
means that you create the world in which you desire
to live! This is not to be confused with putting
on rose-colored glasses, or hiding your head in
the sand, but facing the issue at hand, and looking
at it with a whole new perspective. This is called
"reframing", and it means changing bad into good;
making lemons into lemonade. Victims of emotional
trauma freeze mentally, temporarily forgetting
names, address's and phone numbers. The most successful
people keep a positive attitude, staying calm
and in control at all times, even when disaster
strikes. Keeping calm helps the brain work efficiently,
allowing them to react with amazing swiftness
during emergency situations. The only difference between
them and most other people,is confidence,
which In Latin means "with faith". Someone who
lacks confidence lacks faith in themselves. You
can not gain confidence by someone simply telling
you to "be brave", it must be automatic. The only
automatic thoughts and actions that you have are
those that are programmed into your subconscious
mind, which is just like a computer; and like
a computer, only knows what the content is. Good
or bad, it has no ability to judge. But one thing
is certain, you can not have positive or negative
thoughts at the same time. This is called "cognitive
dissidence." If something is slow, it can not
be fast, cold can not be hot, rich is not poor,
etc.
The good news is, you can change those programs
any time you want - all that is neccessary is
that you really really want to. And it doesn't
really matter what you want the new site to be;
success, courage, health, tranquility, or prosperity;
it always works the same. New thought patterns
create new actions. By whatever name you give
it, hypnosis is the quickest and easiest way to
change your mind, and ultimately, change your
life.
